New for 2003 is the Monster Horsepower stock motor. his ROAR spec 27 turn, 24 degree locked timing motor will be your choice for big fast tracks. All new armature lamination design fools the motor into thinking it has more then the legal 24 degrees of timing. Lighter armature also has quicker acceleration then previous high RPM armature designs. The Monster Stocks motor can has an asymmetrical hole pattern to alter the magnetic field for more magnetic timing. Magnets are centered with tabs for a more consistency motor to motor. The Monster Stock also uses the same external circuit board with hard wired capacitors as the D5. This eliminates any glitching problems from dirt getting under the heatsinks and the capacitor not making good contact. Capacitors are now visible so they are easier to inspect.
