Take a Savage and give it extra speed, extra adjustability, and extra
toughness, add in features that have been suggested by Savage owners such
as more room for the electronics, easier access to the diffs and tranny,
and more suspension adjustability and you have the new
Savage X 4.1 RTR with 2 channel radio.

Chassis: Rigid 6061-series aluminum TVP (twin vertical plate) 0.098
(2.5mm) thick, lower center of gravity design drops engine, center
gearbox and radio equipment 0.20 (5mm) lower than Savage .25
Drive: Four wheel shaft driven
Radio: 2-channel AM 27MHz with steering and throttle trim and servo
reversing on both channels
Servos: One SF-1 standard servo for throttle, SF-2 high torque servo
for steering (70 oz/in .20 sec @ 4.8V or 90 oz/in .16 sec @6V)
Radio Box: Redesigned for easier access to the radio gear and battery
and provides extra room for electronics
Electric Starter: Roto Start 2 updated with new case and circuit
breaker that cuts power in case of flooded engine
Engine: HPI Nitro Star F4.1 with purple aluminum cooling head, new
crankcase & upgrades to the cylinder, piston, con rod, & crankshaft
Also features a composite slide valve carburetor with 7.5mm bore
construction, dual stage air filter and Roto Start back plate
Engine Mount: Heavy duty cast aluminum
Exhaust: Composite construction, black in color tuned pipe with
removable alum inner cone which provides more torque, better fuel
economy and more sound dampening (cone is not installed)
Fuel Tank: 5.4oz (160cc), flip top cap
Clutch: Three shoe
Clutch bell: Steel construction, 15 tooth installed with a spare 18
tooth bell when higher top end speeds are desired
Transmission: Two-speed with user adjustable shift point
Slipper Clutch: Heavy duty dual slipper plates and shock absorbing
rubber pad
Ball Bearings: Full set included, rubber sealed, stainless steel
Shocks: 8 nylon body, long stroke oil-filled with stiff black coil-
over springs (filled with 100 weight shock oil)
Main Gear: Nylon construction, 49 tooth
Gearbox: Sealed with quick access to the front or rear diff by
removing six screws. You can now access the front and rear diff for
easy maintenance without disassembling the chassis plates or any
part of the suspension. The center gearbox can be accessed without
removing the chassis plates. Just remove 6 screws to access
Differentials: Four bevel gear design with hardened large drive bevel
gears
Brakes: Adjustable fiber disc type
Shock Towers: Nylon construction with new design that offers 3 shock
mounting positions for a variety of suspension setups
Tires: Lightweight GT-2 tires for excellent all-terrain traction and
long tire life. The included foam inserts aid in the traction
Wheels: chrome plated Warlock, 6-spoke with 17mm alum hex hubs, 14mm
hex hubs also included for compatibility with 14mm hex wheels
Body: Factory painted with applied decals, trimmed, mounted and ready
to roll. Wider and more aggressive design with new graphics
Bumpers: Front and rear skidplate style, constructed of plastic
Suspension: Front and rear heavy-duty double wishbone wide track
with new lightweight suspension arms that deliver quick suspension
response and reduced sprung weight
Camber Tie Rods: Non adjustable
Caster: Adjustable front and rear toe-in
Steering: Bell crank
Servo Saver: Adjustable cam type for improved steering response and
protection from damage

Fuel: 2-cycle glow fuel with 20% nitromethane, 16% lubricant-
Most of the fuels we carry meet or exceed the lubricant content
required for optimum performance and maximum engine life. In the
past, the conventional lubricant content used in fuel was 18%. But
with new advanced technologies, fuels like Red Alert and O'Donnell
for example, have a better quality of lubricants even though the
percentages of lubricant content are lower. These high-tech
lubricants provide exceptional cooling and protection.

The Savage is not suitable for children under 15 years of age without
adult supervison.
For an optional pull start engine from O. S. Max, the .30VG(P)-X
(OSMG2077) and the Speed Tuned Pipe (OSMG2843) can be used.
