COMMENTS:
- Building mini RC emulsion shock involves creating a consistent mix of oil and air for smooth damping . Filling with high-quality silicone oil, and loosening the cap to push out excess oil while the shaft is half compressed
The key to a perfect emulsion setup is repeatability:
The "Half-Shaft" Rule: By holding the shaft at the midpoint while tightening the cap, you ensure there is enough air volume to compensate for the shaft entering the shock body
Consistency: The air and oil will naturally mix into a foam during use. For this to work well, you must build all four shocks exactly the same way so the damping rate remains uniform across the car
Bleeding: If the shock feels "rock hard" at the top of the stroke, there is too much oil; if it feels "crunchy" or lacks damping, there is too much air
- When installing a different spring on your setup, its essential to first remove the cap and spring adjuster.
This preliminary step is crucial for ensuring a smooth installation process.
